Message
from the Minister
|
The
Ministry of Education is guided in the development of
its programs and services by the wisdom and leadership
of His Majesty King Abdullah II – a leadership that
calls for the building of a prosperous and successful
future for Jordan.
By continuously seeking to improve, strengthen
and consolidate the country’s civil service
institutions, many efforts are now underway to modernize
the institutions of Jordan in order to meet the
challenges and emerging requirements of a new era as
envisioned by His Majesty.

|
The
vision of His Majesty extends well beyond making simple
adjustments – His Majesty’s vision seeks to develop
a strong and vibrant future for Jordan by continuously
searching for, developing, experimenting with, adopting
and then disseminating the “best of the best” for
the benefit of the entire kingdom.
To
meet His Majesty’s vision for future of Jordan, the
Ministry does not hesitate to seek out and request the
support and advice of friends who have successful
experiences in the development and delivery of
educational services.
An example of one of the most positive and
effective “friendships” in the development of
Jordan’s educational system is the “Institutional
Capacity Building Project” – a project implemented
in collaboration with the British Council and the
British Government’s Department for International
Development (DFID). Moreover, through the project, the Ministry of Education has
been successful in obtaining the ISO 9001 certificate -
a true indicator that the Ministry is on the correct
path in building institutional capacity according to
international standards of total quality management
systems.
Of
particular importance is the recently launched website
for the “Institutional Capacity Building Project” as
this website demonstrates, in form and content, the
Ministry’s ongoing commitment to developing,
modernizing, and updating its services not only within
Jordan but also to all those who need the services
within the Arab region.
On
behalf of the Ministry of Education and the Government
of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, I would like to take
this opportunity to acknowledge and express my deep
gratitude to all those who contributed in making this
project a success and launching the website. I would
like to extend a special thank you to DFID and the
British Council, as well as all of my colleagues at the
Ministry Headquarters and Districts, who participated in
this significant and very successful project - thanks
to a most productive British-Jordanian partnership – a
partnership that stressed cooperation, coordination,
collaboration and effective communication.

The

reflected his vision also. Should this be recognised.
This
ambitious project reflects His Majesty King Abdullah the
Second's interest in educational developments in Jordan.
His Majesty emphasized on several occasions that
creating a competitive workforce by improving the
quality of education is the best way to gain
international status and is an important step for
economic progress.
